Research and Development Campus
Connection, context influence campus design
The Research and Development Campus prioritizes creating an open and collaborative working experience, enhancing the collective efforts between staff that make up the sales and administration of lumber industry technology and machinery. The new campus co-locates all departments, currently separated by building and location, facilitating interaction. The design draws inspiration from timber and the historic use and production of lumber in the area. The wing-shaped, 3-story research building includes office spaces, conference rooms, classrooms, and a double-height showroom that can be used for large gatherings. Connected by a sky bridge, the development warehouse and manufacturing facility is a long, sawtooth-shaped building—a nod to the work performed here—comprising office and amenity space and high bays connecting to a loading and storage yard.
