Washington County Public Safety Training Center
Comprehensive public safety training center in Washington County
The Washington County Public Safety Training Center serves the county’s Sheriff's Department and law enforcement partners throughout the region. SEA partnered with the county to develop a comprehensive, flexible training center that would eliminate the need for multiple training locations, bringing the region’s disparate functions under one roof. To do this we adaptively reused an existing industrial building—we used the high ceilings to create a 2-story interior, maximizing the available space. The center includes areas for the administrative and training teams, classrooms, two 50-yard acoustically-buffered shooting ranges, an armory, defensive tactics training rooms, and a large scenario village. The site also has an emergency vehicle training course.
